LFA champ Lucas Fernando books UFC 330 debut against ‘Bipolar’

LFA light heavyweight champion Lucas Fernando has signed with the UFC and will make his octagon debut at UFC 330 on August 15 against Rafael "Bipolar" Tobias. The event takes place at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

Fernando (13–3) is a 29-year-old Brazilian who previously competed on Dana White's Contender Series, losing to Cesar Almeida. He joins the UFC as the reigning LFA 205-pound champion and former middleweight titleholder. Most recently, Fernando has notched a four-fight winning streak capped by back-to-back first-round knockouts in consecutive title defenses, demonstrating knockout power that could translate at the UFC level.

His opponent, Tobias (14–2), earned his UFC contract after submitting Jair de Oliveira on Dana White's Contender Series in 2025. However, Tobias stumbled in his UFC debut this past March, dropping a decision to Diyar Nurgozhay. He will look to bounce back against Fernando and secure his first octagon win.

UFC 330 will headline two title fights: Islam Makhachev defending his welterweight crown against Ian Machado Garry, and Mackenzie Dern putting her strawweight title on the line against Gillian Robertson. Fernando's bout figures to be part of a stacked preliminary card leading into those championship main events.
