Lightweight banger booked for UFC Vegas 120 main attraction
The UFC has announced a lightweight main event for UFC Vegas 120 (also known as UFC Fight Night 284) on August 8 at the Apex in Las Vegas. Poland's Mateusz Gamrot (26-4, 1 NC) will headline against Australian Quillan Salkilld (12-1) in what promoters are calling an "absolute banger."
Gamrot has had a mixed run through 2024 and beyond, alternating wins and losses across five recent Octagon appearances. The five-time post-fight bonus winner strung together three consecutive victories before suffering a split-decision loss to Dan Hooker roughly five months ago. He rebounded with a win over Ludovit Klein but then suffered his first stoppage loss to former champion Charles Oliveira. Most recently, in April, Gamrot submitted Esteban Ribovics with an arm-triangle choke.
Salkilld, 26, has made a significant impact since joining the UFC, posting a dominant 2025 campaign with knockout wins over Anshul Jubli and Nasrat Haqparast. The streak has continued into 2026 with a neck crank submission of Jamie Mullarkey and a devastating finish of Beneil Dariush in just over three and a half minutes. All four of Salkilld's UFC victories have come by stoppage and earned bonus checks. His unbeaten professional record stretches back to his 2021 debut, featuring nine submission or knockout victories across his 12 triumphs.
