PFL locks down 11-bout lineup for Washington, D.C., card on July 25

The Professional Fighters League has unveiled an 11-bout lineup for PFL D.C., set for July 25 at the Carefirst Arena in Washington, D.C. The card is headlined by an all-important welterweight title fight between undefeated Thad Jean (11-0) and Shamil Musaev (18-1-1) for the vacant 170-pound crown left open by the retirement of Ramazan Kuramagomedov.

Jean earned his title shot by winning the 2025 PFL welterweight tournament. The Florida native rose through the Challenger Series in early 2023, defeated Eric Alequin to secure his PFL contract, and impressed immediately by dismantling Ali Omar in under two minutes at PFL 7. He advanced through his bracket by stopping Mukhamed Berkhamov and winning consecutive decisions over Jason Jackson and Logan Storley.

Musaev, a Dagestan native, won his own title opportunity by claiming the 2024 tournament. His path included knockouts of Logan Storley and Murad Ramazanov, a playoff rematch against Ramazanov, and a decisive knockout of previously undefeated Magomed Umalatov in the $1 million championship bout—Umalatov's first professional loss. Musaev then challenged the then-champion Kuramagomedov but fell short, and has not competed since that defeat.
