Raoni Barcelos shares video from hospital bed, vows to ‘come back stronger’ after terrifying UFC Vegas 121 loss

Raoni Barcelos sent an encouraging message from his hospital bed Monday morning, roughly 48 hours after a shocking loss to Raul Rosas Jr. at UFC Vegas 121. The veteran bantamweight, who was ahead on the scorecards and appeared headed for a decision victory, collapsed unconscious in the fifth round during the main event Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Rosas Jr. was declared the winner by technical knockout when Barcelos lost consciousness in the clinch. The 39-year-old's defeat snapped a five-fight winning streak. Despite the terrifying finish, Barcelos confirmed he was doing well and undergoing standard post-fight protocols at the hospital. "I'm doing really well and undergoing all the exams here at the hospital. This is just the hospital's protocol, so I have to go through all of them," he said in a Portuguese-language video message.
Barceios acknowledged falling just short of his championship ambitions but remained optimistic about his future. "I gave everything I had inside that cage. Like I said before, I was only leaving that cage if I was carried out, and that's exactly how it happened," Barcelos reflected. He thanked supporters for their prayers and vowed to return stronger. "I'm here, doing well. I'll be back, and I'll come back stronger."
