PFL DC weigh-in results: 170-lb title fight set
The Professional Fighters League's Washington DC event is set for Saturday, July 25, with the welterweight championship on the line. Undefeated Thad Jean (169.2 lbs) will defend his 170-pound title against late-notice challenger Ernesto Rodriguez (169.8 lbs) after both fighters successfully made weight at Friday's official weigh-ins.
Jean, 28, brings a perfect 11-0 record into his first title defense. The American "Silverback" captured the PFL welterweight crown with a recent decision win over Logan Storley and has compiled seven victories within the promotion. Stepping into the title shot unexpectedly is Rodriguez, also 28, who enters with an 11-1 record. Training out of Xtreme Couture, "Starboy" is competing in just his second PFL bout after taking this matchup on short notice when original challenger Shamil Musaev withdrew due to weight-cutting complications. Rodriguez's most recent appearance came earlier in 2026, when he earned a majority decision over Masayuki Kikuiri.
The eight-fight card begins with prelims at 8 p.m. ET on the ESPN App, followed by the main card at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. All fighters on the card successfully made weight.
