UFC Edmonton adds 6 new fights, former title challenger returns

The UFC's return to Alberta on October 17 continues to take shape with six additional bouts added to the UFC Edmonton card at Rogers Place. The event now features a welterweight main event between top-15 contenders Joaquin Buckley and Mike Malott, while a flyweight co-main event will see rising prospects Erin Blanchfield and Jasmine Jasudavicius square off.

Notable among the additions is the return of former 125-pound title challenger Katlyn Cerminara, who competes for the first time since March 2024. Cerminara challenged Valentina Shevchenko for flyweight gold at UFC 247 in February 2020, falling by third-round knockout. She has since recorded five wins in eight fights but enters the Edmonton bout on a two-fight losing streak. Her opponent will be British Columbia's Jamey-Lyn Horth, who joined the UFC in 2023 and currently holds a 4-3 record with the promotion.

The card features significant Canadian representation, with Alberta's Tanner Boser and Melissa Croden receiving home dates against Jhonata Diniz and Chelsea Chandler respectively. Additional hometown appeal comes from Quebec contingent Mandel Nallo, Marc-Andre Barriault, and Louis Jourdain—brother of bantamweight contender Charles Jourdain.
