UFC Edmonton just got a major injection of Canadian talent

UFC Edmonton is loading up with homegrown talent. The promotion has added four Canadian fighters to the October 17 card at Rogers Place, bolstering a lineup that already features Mike Malott versus Joaquin Buckley in the main event.

Marc-André Barriault will represent Canada in a middleweight clash against American Kyle Daukaus. Barriault's UFC run has been rocky—he holds a 6-10 record (plus one no-contest) in the promotion and is riding a two-fight losing streak, though the home crowd should provide a boost. Daukaus is coming off a first-round loss to Bo Nickal at UFC Freedom 250 in June, but had shown promise earlier in his second UFC stint with two consecutive finishes.

The women's flyweight division gets Jamey-Lyn Horth facing Katlyn Cerminara. Horth is 2-2 in her last four outings and comes in off a loss to J.J. Aldrich, while Cerminara is on a two-fight skid and hasn't competed in over two years.

In a women's bantamweight matchup, Melissa Croden takes on Chelsea Chandler. Croden is 2-1 inside the UFC and recently defeated Darya Zheleznyakova in April. Chandler, meanwhile, snapped a two-fight losing streak with a submission victory over Priscila Cachoeira.

The card also features Canadian heavyweight Gabe Boser against Brazil's Jhonata Diniz. Tickets go on sale Friday.
