Raul Rosas Jr. gets $100K UFC bonus after frightening Barcelos finish
Raul Rosas Jr. earned a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus after capturing Fight of the Night honors alongside Raoni Barcelos at UFC Vegas 121, capping a five-round war that ended in stunning fashion.
The decisive moment came midway through the fifth and final round when Rosas Jr. landed an inside trip that sent Barcelos crashing to the canvas. Barcelos was immediately knocked out, appearing to land on his head during the takedown. The official finish time was 1:38 of Round 5. Barcelos was quickly attended to by medical staff and removed from the cage for further evaluation; Paramount Brazil's Vevy Rodrigues later reported he was alert and receiving checks at a local hospital.
Rosas Jr., now riding a six-fight winning streak, continues his pursuit of becoming the youngest champion in UFC history. The co-main event between Norma Dumont and Ailin Perez in the women's bantamweight division saw Perez earn a unanimous decision on three 29-28 scorecards, extending her own winning streak to seven.
Other bonus recipients at UFC Vegas 121 included Luis Hernandez and Yazmin Jauregui, who each earned $100,000 Performance of the Night awards. Hernandez forced Sedriques Dumas to tap to a standing guillotine choke just 57 seconds into their middleweight bout, while Jauregui dismantled former LFA champion Vanessa Demopoulos in the opening frame of their encounter.
