Dana White addresses Raoni Barcelos scare at UFC Vegas 121: ‘Thank God, he’s doing well’

Raoni Barcelos is recovering after collapsing during his UFC Vegas 121 main event fight against Raul Rosas Jr. on Saturday. The Brazilian fighter lost consciousness in the fifth round in one of the most frightening moments in recent UFC history. Medical personnel attended to him immediately, and he was transported via stretcher to the local hospital's trauma center. Barcelos has since regained consciousness, been released from the hospital, and is walking and talking normally. UFC president Dana White addressed the incident Tuesday, expressing relief at Barcelos's condition. "Thank God, he's doing well. He's up walking around, talking," White said. White emphasized that the promotion followed proper safety protocols, noting that all pre-fight medicals were triple-checked and six doctors, along with three ambulances, were on-site during the event. No official public diagnosis of what caused the collapse has been announced, and there is no timeline for Barcelos's return to training or competition. White indicated the promotion is not yet considering next steps, prioritizing Barcelos's health above all else. Despite the ordeal, Barcelos has indicated his intention to return to fighting once cleared by medical professionals.
