UFC employee goes from Dana White’s runner to roster with DWCS KO
Salhahuddin Everett has earned his UFC contract by way of Dana White's Contender Series, capping an unlikely journey from UFC employee to roster fighter. Everett, who initially joined the promotion through a third-party security agency before becoming a full-time runner for UFC CEO Dana White, entered Week 9 of DWCS Season 10 with a perfect 4-0 record and secured a knockout victory at the 1:57 mark of the first round at Meta Apex in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Everett faced fellow unbeaten prospect Ozzy Martin and unleashed a barrage of punches to secure the finish and punch his ticket to the UFC roster. His four consecutive finishes to begin his professional career demonstrated enough striking prowess and finishing ability to earn him a shot at the contract stage.
In his post-fight interview, Everett delivered a direct message to UFC welterweights and his former boss. "Hey boss, I am ready to be in the UFC," he said. "The whole division knows my name, Salhahuddin, and I am coming, and I am not afraid of nobody. I am not backing down from no challenges. I am here for a reason, so Dana White's Contender Series is just the first step of this journey."
Everett's ascent from behind-the-scenes staff to signed fighter represents a rare career trajectory in professional fighting and speaks to his determination to transition his work ethic and proximity to the sport into actual competition at the elite level.
