Khabib Nurmagomedov explains why people either love or hate Ali Abdelaziz

Khabib Nurmagomedov reflected on Ali Abdelaziz's polarizing presence in MMA, saying the veteran manager and Dominance MMA founder inspires strong reactions—positive or negative—that make indifference impossible. Nurmagomedov was managed by Abdelaziz throughout his UFC career and maintains a close personal bond with him beyond their professional relationship; Abdelaziz also represents other Dagestani fighters from Nurmagomedov's camp, including UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

Speaking to Lex Fridman, Nurmagomedov explained Abdelaziz's unique effect on people. "Ali has one unique quality: people either really love him or really hate him," he said. "You can't just be neutral about him. No one will say about him, 'I know him; he's a good guy.' You'll have strong feelings for him. Either you hate him, or you really love him."

Nurmagomedov emphasized that understanding Abdelaziz requires personal knowledge of him. He highlighted Abdelaziz's loyalty as his defining trait, noting that the manager "will stand by you until the very end." The UFC Hall of Famer added that while some hold mixed feelings toward Abdelaziz, true indifference toward him is nearly impossible to maintain. Makhachev is known to frequently prank Abdelaziz, further illustrating the closeness of their relationship and the broader Dagestani fighter contingent he represents.
