DWCS fighter claims 15 men stormed hotel room before brutal KO loss

Namo Fazil has alleged that approximately 15 Chechens stormed his hotel room during his weight cut for Dana White's Contender Series, an incident he claims significantly compromised his performance in his subsequent knockout loss to Kaik Brito at DWCS Week 2 on Tuesday.

Fazil was already severely depleted, with only a few pounds remaining to cut, when the confrontation occurred on weigh-in day. According to his account, he was resting in his hotel room after time in the sauna when his coach opened the door to a group of Chechens who allegedly entered with intent. Fazil claims one individual slapped him in an attempt to provoke a fight. After being slapped a second time, Fazil defended himself and threw punches, prompting his coaches to intervene and de-escalate before police arrived.

"While cutting weight for my Dana White's Contender Series fight, about 15 Chechens showed up at the hotel room where I was staying on weigh-in day," Fazil recounted on Instagram. "I had blankets on me because I was cold and trying to sweat out a bit more. I was completely exhausted. About 15 people came in. They were Chechens. They had come there with a purpose. I didn't want to fight, but in the end, I had to defend myself. And this happened at a moment when I was physically almost dead from cutting weight."

Fazil had previously made controversial comments about Chechnya following a win over Chechen fighter Yakub Sulimanov last year. Notably, Baisangur Susurkaev, a UFC fighter and teammate of Khamzat Chimaev, posted cryptic Instagram stories immediately after Fazil's knockout loss, fueling speculation about potential coordination.
