Cris Cyborg wants to ‘save’ UFC 332 with Amanda Nunes revenge fight

Cris Cyborg has offered a solution to the UFC's UFC 332 headliner problem: a rematch with Amanda Nunes. The former champion took to social media calling for the bout to headline the October 3 numbered event in Salt Lake City, which currently lacks an announced main event.

UFC 332 was expected to be headlined by a women's flyweight title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Natalia Silva, but recent reports indicate Shevchenko has been forced to withdraw from the event. With other champions recently competing or already booked for later cards, the promotion faces a significant scheduling challenge. Cyborg's proposal came in the form of a direct social media post: "[Amanda Nunes] tired of waiting for [Kayla Harrison]? Feel like saving an UFC event?"

The pair initially fought at UFC 232 in December 2018, when Nunes dominated with a first-round knockout to become a simultaneous two-division champion. Nunes retired in 2023, though she had been expected to face Kayla Harrison earlier this year before Harrison suffered a neck injury that derailed that matchup.

Cyborg herself recently competed at PFL Tampa on August 22, earning a unanimous decision victory over Ketlen Vieira in what was billed as potentially her final MMA bout. The former UFC champion holds wins across multiple weight classes and organizations throughout her decorated career.

Whether the UFC pursues Cyborg's suggestion remains unclear, but the proposal highlights both fighters' marketability in a period of promotional uncertainty around UFC 332's card composition.
