‘It’s definitely a curveball’: Lauren Blake reacts to Henry Cejudo now facing Wanna Walton in Misfits Boxing headliner

DAZN boxing host Lauren Blake reacted to Henry Cejudo's shift in opponents for his upcoming Misfits Boxing debut, describing the late change as a significant stylistic curveball. Originally scheduled to face Deen the Great at Saturday's Miami card, Cejudo will now battle 20-year-old southpaw Wanna Walton in the main event at the James L. Knight Center—a vastly different matchup than originally planned.
Blake, who will co-host the broadcast, emphasized how dramatically the fight changes with Walton's entry. The young boxer, professionally developed and with acting credits to his name, presents entirely different challenges than Cejudo's original opponent. "Stylistically, the entire fight changes," Blake noted. "It's definitely a curveball for everybody."
Blake brings significant experience to the role, having studied biochemistry at Arizona State before transitioning into combat sports broadcasting. She gained prominence covering the Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul event last December on Netflix, where she worked the red carpet, conducted celebrity interviews, and walked to the ring with Paul. She was positioned ringside when Joshua's final punch broke Paul's jaw—an experience she captured on video.
"That was absolutely electric," Blake recalled of the Joshua-Paul event. "It was such a huge fight, and I had the honor of covering it. I walked out to the ring with Jake, experienced the intensity in the locker room before, and heard the crack when Anthony threw that last punch. The whole experience was one of a kind." Her extensive platform in combat sports coverage makes her a natural fit for major events like Cejudo's boxing debut, where late-notice opponent changes require broadcast flexibility and insider perspective.
