Roberto Soldic says UFC pay ‘not even close’ to One Championship deal

Heavyweight Roberto Soldic has revealed that his new UFC contract pays significantly less than what he earned during his time with One Championship, though he expressed satisfaction with his new deal. The Croatian recently inked with the UFC after his One contract expired, and will face Kalinn Williams (16-5) in a middleweight bout at UFC 332 on October 3 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Soldic, a two-division KSW champion before joining One in 2022, told Ariel Helwani that his original UFC offer four years ago was strong, but One sweetened the package with additional opportunities in kickboxing and muay thai. Soldic signed a 10-fight contract with One but competed only three times—compiling a 1-1-1 record in MMA—before the deal expired. Despite the pay disparity, Soldic expressed optimism about his UFC chapter. "No, not even close. But I'm happy," he said. "I think I had the best offer four years ago, but One had a little bit bigger offer... The contract expired, and yeah, it is what it is. But I'm happy now with the UFC. It's a good offer, and I want to stay here." His remarks highlight the varying compensation structures between promotions and suggest the UFC's current offer represents a step forward despite falling short of his One Championship earnings.
