Payton Talbott targeted to fight former UFC champion at UFC 332

The UFC has targeted a bantamweight clash between former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and rising prospect Payton Talbott for UFC 332 on October 3 in Salt Lake City, per MMA Fighting.
Both fighters have agreed to the matchup, though contracts remain unsigned. The promotion has not yet announced a headliner for the card at the Delta Center.
Figueiredo (25-7-1) faces mounting pressure after dropping consecutive decisions to Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong. His recent record has been troubling: over his last five fights, he owns just one victory—a split-decision win over Montel Jackson—sandwiched between losses to Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen.
Talbott (11-1) arrives on a two-fight winning streak. The former A1 Combat champion has won five of six UFC bouts and enters with momentum after back-to-back decision victories in 2025 against Felipe Lima and Henry Cejudo, a former two-division title holder. Talbott's sole UFC loss came earlier that year to Raoni Barcelos.
