Heel hook specialist to meet 'The Train' at UFC Abu Dhabi

Valter Walker, the UFC record holder for most heel hook submissions, is set to face Thomas Petersen in a heavyweight matchup at UFC Fight Night 282 on July 25 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Walker (15-1) suffered his only professional loss in his UFC debut in 2024 but has bounced back impressively since. Nicknamed "The Foot Hunter," the Brazilian has strung together five consecutive submission victories, all via heel hook. This remarkable streak has tied him with Rousimar Palhares for the most heel hook submissions in UFC history—a testament to his specialization and technical prowess in that submission technique.

Petersen (11-4), known as "The Train," made his UFC debut in 2024 after compiling an 11-3 record outside the promotion. Since joining the UFC, Petersen has had a mixed run, alternating wins and losses for a 3-3 record in the promotion. Most recently, he notched a majority decision victory over previously undefeated Guilherme Pat in April.
