UFC fighter calls rival a ‘clown’ after illegal knee ends ‘TUF 34’ final
Mehemmedali Osmanli's feud with Ilimbek Akylbek Uulu remains unresolved after a controversial finish at UFC Vegas 121 on September 26 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. The pair clashed in the bantamweight final of "The Ultimate Fighter 34" with significant bad blood stemming from their time together on Michael Bisping's team at the show's house. Osmanli landed an illegal knee on a grounded Akylbek Uulu less than halfway through the first round, forcing a disqualification and handing victory to his opponent. However, Osmanli has since disputed the severity of the strike, accusing Akylbek Uulu of exaggerating the injury for effect. "He's fake," Osmanli said on Instagram Live. "First, he take my leg. When referee stopped, he [put on a] show, like a clown." Osmanli claimed his opponent initially grabbed his leg after the illegal strike landed but only began theatrics once the referee intervened. The loss snapped Osmanli's nine-fight unbeaten streak and marked the second defeat of his professional career, leaving both fighters eager to settle their dispute conclusively.
