UFC Oklahoma City weigh-in results: Chase Hooper, another misses weight

The UFC Oklahoma City weigh-ins took place Friday ahead of this weekend's card, with the main and co-main event fighters successfully hitting their marks, but two other competitors failed to make weight.

Former middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis weighed in at 185.5 pounds for his five-round main event against former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who came in at 186 pounds. Both made the middleweight limit without issue. In the co-main event, Jared Cannorier made the 185-pound championship weight, while Christian Leroy Duncan stepped onto the scale at 185.5 pounds.

However, the feature bout ran into trouble when Chase Hooper, a 26-year-old fan favorite and 13-fight UFC veteran, missed weight for the first time in his career. Hooper came in at 157.5 pounds for his lightweight bout against Mitch Ramirez—1.5 pounds over the limit. The bout will proceed as a catchweight affair, with Hooper forfeiting 20 percent of his purse as penalty. Additionally, featherweight fighter Ezra Elliott overshot the scale at 147.5 pounds for his opening bout against Damien Anderson; the UFC had not yet announced what fine or action would follow that miss.
