UFC Oklahoma City weigh-in results: Kamaru Usman returns; 2 fighters heavy

The UFC's Oklahoma City card is official following weigh-ins Friday. A middleweight main event pairing two former champions is set, with Kamaru Usman and Dricus Du Plessis both making weight at 186 and 185.5 pounds respectively. Two other fighters came in heavy: lightweight Chase Hooper and featherweight Ezra Elliott each missed by 1.5 pounds and will be fined 20% of their purses.

Usman, "The Nigerian Nightmare," returns to the main event following a unanimous decision win over Joaquin Buckley that halted a three-fight losing streak. The 39-year-old former welterweight champion lost his belt to Leon Edwards before falling short in attempts to reclaim it and in a bout against Khamzat Chimaev. Du Plessis (23-3), the South African "DDP," is 9-1 inside the UFC and seven years younger than Usman. Recently he has defeated Sean Strickland, Israel Adesanya, and Robert Whittaker, though he also lost to Chimaev, who claimed the middleweight title from him.
