Former UFC fighter Trey Waters heads to PFL Summer Series
Former UFC welterweight Trey Waters has signed with the Professional Fighters League and will make his PFL debut on August 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina, during a Summer Series event. Waters (9–2) will face homegrown prospect Trukon Carson (6–1), known as "The Carolina Gamedog," in a welterweight matchup.
Waters spent two years in the UFC after appearing on Dana White's Contender Series in 2022, where he was submitted by Gabriel Bonfim. His 2–1 record in the promotion gives him experience at the highest level heading into his PFL debut.
Carson brings an aggressive style to the bout, with five of his six professional wins coming by first-round stoppage. His most recent victory came in Fury FC, and this fight against the UFC veteran represents his biggest step up in competition to date.
PFL Charlotte will feature several other notable bouts: middleweight prospect Bryan Battle (12–3) takes on Dalton Rosta (11–3) in the headliner, while Joshua Silveira (15–5) faces Aaron Jeffery (16–6), Josh Fremd (12–6) tangles with Jhony Gregory (11–4), and Jay-Jay Wilson (12–2) battles Amin Ayoub (24–7–1).
