Meet the 6'5" PFL welterweight they call a 'sniper'

Eoin Sheridan, a 6'5" Irish welterweight competing in the Professional Fighters League, is climbing the promotion's rankings with an undefeated 5-0 professional record and three wins under the PFL banner. The Top 10–ranked prospect is set to face James Vake at PFL Tampa on Saturday, August 22, in a bout he hopes will move him closer to championship contention in a welterweight division bolstered by new talent following the PFL's merger with Most Valuable Promotions.

Sheridan brings considerable confidence and self-belief to the matchup. "I'm a 6'5" sniper, so be careful," he said in an interview with Sherdog.com, emphasizing his size advantage at welterweight and his willingness to engage. A kickboxer by trade who favors standing exchanges, Sheridan takes pride in representing Ireland and envisions helping bring the PFL back to Dublin as the promotion enters its next chapter.

Rather than game-planning specific elements of Vake's skill set, Sheridan plans to rely on instinct and his own abilities. "I just can't wait to go out there and just do what I do," he explained, noting that fighting comes naturally after years of training and competition. He attributed his confidence to consistency, discipline, and his considerable size advantage over division opponents.

Sheridan has set his sights on the title picture by 2027, a realistic timeline given his upward trajectory. For now, he promises fans "fireworks" against Vake. "The Sheriff is coming," he declared, referencing his nickname as he looks to build momentum toward a run at the welterweight crown.
