Cris Cyborg adds Holly Holm to camp ahead of PFL Tampa fight with Ketlen Vieira
Cris Cyborg has enlisted Holly Holm to help her prepare for an upcoming Professional Fighters League bout against Ketlen Vieira scheduled for August 22 at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. Cyborg, who holds a 29-2 record, views this matchup as one of the toughest tests of her career and believes Holm's elite-level experience will provide crucial advantages in camp.
Holm, a former UFC champion, brings a wealth of knowledge from competing against top-tier competition throughout her storied career. The two have fought before—Cyborg defeated Holm via unanimous decision at UFC 219 in what was described as a hard-fought affair. "Holly brings a unique perspective and elite-level experience that only someone who has shared the cage with top competition can provide," Cyborg said. "Preparing alongside a fighter of Holly's caliber gives me an added edge as I face one of the toughest tests of my career."
Cyborg has been in exceptional form, riding a nine-fight winning streak since her UFC loss to Amanda Nunes in 2018. The August 22 bout marks the final fight on her current PFL contract. Her opponent, Vieira, compiles a 16-5 record and was released from the UFC in May despite winning her last fight there, where she posted a 10-5 record in the promotion. This matchup represents a significant test for both fighters as they vie for positioning in the PFL's heavyweight division.
