Quillan Salkilld has officially announced himself as a serious lightweight contender, submitting Mateusz Gamrot with a rear-naked choke in the first round of the UFC Vegas 120 main event.

Salkilld, a 26-year-old Australian competing in his first UFC headliner, controlled the fight from start to finish. He began by landing crisp jabs and straight punches that forced Gamrot onto his heels. When Gamrot attempted a desperation leg lock early in the round, Salkilld escaped and continued his striking assault.
