PFL Charlotte Results: Bryan Battle edges split decision over Dalton Rosta to score first PFL win

Bryan Battle earned his first PFL victory on Friday night at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, defeating Dalton Rosta via split decision in the main event of PFL Charlotte. The scores read 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in Battle's favor.

Fighting in his hometown, Battle was looking to rebound after losing his PFL debut to Johnny Eblen in March. Though he secured the win, the bout was far from thrilling. Rosta came out aggressively in the early rounds, mixing strikes and takedown attempts while maintaining steady pressure. As the fight progressed, however, Rosta's output diminished and Battle began finding more success. Neither fighter appeared willing to take significant risks, leading to audible boos from the crowd and commentary noting both were fighting "risk averse."

The split decision was met with tepid enthusiasm even from Battle's hometown supporters. In his post-fight address, Battle remained defiant: "I know y'all didn't think The Butcher was gonna lose in a fist fight in Charlotte! I know y'all didn't think The Butcher was gonna lose in a fist fight at home! That ain't never gonna happen!" Battle indicated his desire to stay active and fight again soon.

On the main card, Simeon Powell edged Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) in a light heavyweight bout. Aaron Jeffery dominated Josh Silveira with superior wrestling and clinch work to earn a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26). Lewis McGrillen defeated Brandon Lewis by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) in a bantamweight clash, and Josh Fremd finished Jhony Gregory via TKO from punches at 1:44 of round two.
