PFL New York live blog: Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Archie Colgan

Lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov delivered a spectacular performance in what may be his final PFL bout, stopping challenger Archie Colgan via TKO at 3:42 of the opening round at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York.

Nurmagomedov, undefeated at 21-0 with one no-contest, controlled the action from the opening bell with sharp striking and range management. Colgan, also undefeated at 13-0 and riding back-to-back PFL wins, pressed forward early but struggled against Nurmagomedov's varied offense. The champion systematically attacked with jabs, front kicks, and combinations, accumulating damage and swelling around Colgan's eye.

The finish came when Nurmagomedov landed a sensational question-mark kick, dropping Colgan to a knee. When Colgan rose, an uppercut from Nurmagomedov sent him down again, and referee intervention followed immediately.
