Tom Aspinall could lose UFC heavyweight title as Dana White plans talks

White was asked during the Ryan Garcia versus Conor Benn post-fight press conference whether Aspinall might vacate the title, similar to Valentina Shevchenko's recent decision to step down from the women's flyweight championship. "We'll definitely be talking about that," White told reporters. "It's one of those—like, Valentina doesn't want to tie up the division. And I'm assuming Tom feels the same way. I don't know personally where he is health-wise with everything, but we should clear that up soon."

Meanwhile, Ciryl Gane captured the interim heavyweight title by defeating Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250 in June, setting the stage for a title unification rematch with Aspinall. However, the British champion remains without athletic clearance, leaving his immediate future uncertain. Discussions between the UFC and Aspinall's camp appear imminent regarding whether he will retain or vacate the belt.
