Sean Brady disagrees with Din Thomas’ handling of UFC 330 backlash

Sean Brady has defended Din Thomas following the backlash the veteran cornerman faced after announcing his retirement from coaching during UFC 330's post-fight interviews. Thomas made the announcement immediately after his fighter Gillian Robertson lost her strawweight title bid against Mackenzie Dern, a decision that overshadowed Robertson's moment and drew widespread criticism. Thomas subsequently apologized to Robertson for the timing and manner of his announcement.

On the "Deep Waters" podcast, Brady acknowledged that while he disagrees with how Thomas handled the situation, he believes the longtime cornerman regrets his actions. Brady emphasized that such criticism should have been delivered privately rather than aired publicly, and he pushed back against the pile-on Thomas received from the MMA community.

"The thing with Din is, I do not agree with what Din said and how he said it," Brady told Ariel Helwani. "I feel like that is definitely something I would want said to me in private." Brady praised Thomas's character and work ethic, noting that the former fighter has made multiple trips to Philadelphia to help his team without seeking compensation.

Thomas has hinted at cornering Brady for his upcoming welterweight clash against Gabriel Bonfim on November 7 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. While Brady expressed openness to having Thomas in his corner, he clarified that Thomas would serve as a tactical advisor rather than his head corner. Brady acknowledged that losing Thomas's involvement would be a setback but respects whatever decision Thomas makes moving forward.
