PFL New York weigh-in results: Usman Nurmagomedov's title defense set
The Professional Fighters League's New York event is locked in following official weigh-ins, with undefeated lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov cleared to defend his title against Archie Colgan on Friday, July 31.
Both fighters made weight without issue for the five-round championship bout. Nurmagomedov, 28, weighed 154.8 pounds while Colgan checked in at an identical 154.8 pounds. The PFL lightweight title fight will headline the card, which airs live on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with preliminary bouts starting at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on the ESPN app.
Nurmagomedov (21-0, 1 NC) is widely considered the PFL's most dominant fighter. The undefeated 28-year-old previously held Bellator's lightweight championship since 2022 before capturing the inaugural PFL lightweight title against Paul Hughes last year. He earned his first title defense by submitting Alfie Davis and now faces a stern test in undefeated challenger Colgan (13-0), who has compiled a 2-0 record inside the PFL after going 8-0 in Bellator. Colgan's recent victories include decision wins over Mansour Barnaoui and Jay-Jay Wilson.
