Marcos Degli lands UFC contract after wild one-arm choke at DWCS
Brazilian flyweight Marcos Degli earned his UFC contract at Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 Week 7 with an impressive submission victory and extended his winning streak to 13 consecutive fights. Competing at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Degli submitted Paris Moran with a standing one-arm rear-naked choke at the 4:46 mark of the second round, showcasing the depth of his grappling arsenal alongside his striking credentials.
Degil has emerged as one of Brazil's most dangerous flyweight prospects, and his performance against Moran demonstrated that his submission game is every bit as potent as his striking. After starting his professional career at 2-3, Degli has since put together an impressive 13-fight winning streak. UFC CEO Dana White was impressed enough to offer the rising prospect a contract.
The victory carried deep personal significance for Degli (15-3), who was emotional during his post-fight interview. He spoke about his grandmother, who passed away early in the year. "I lost my grandma at the start of the year and I wish that she was here to see where her grandson made it. We made it," Degli said. "I am sure she would be really proud. I am gonna make her really proud." He also credited his wife's unwavering support throughout his journey. "She is the most invaluable thing I have in my life," Degli said. "She's there for me no matter what."
