RAF 11 live blog: Arman Tsarukyan vs. Colby Covington

Colby Covington, the former UFC interim champion and Division 1 All-American wrestler, defeated Arman Tsarukyan 5–3 to win the inaugural RAF Crossover title at RAF 11 in Milwaukee on Saturday.

Covington, who retired from the UFC earlier this year to pursue wrestling full-time in RAF, faced Tsarukyan, the undefeated face of the promotion who entered 7–0 after competing in seven events. Despite Tsarukyan's remarkable success in RAF and strong MMA pedigree, Covington's wrestling credentials—including his JUCO national championship and Division 1 All-American status—proved decisive.

In the first period, Covington controlled the pace with collar ties and headlocks while Tsarukyan struggled against the size and strength difference. Covington executed strong defensive wrestling, notably going through for a takedown with solid defense late in the round to establish a 3–0 lead, marking what appeared to be Tsarukyan's first deficit in RAF competition.

The second period saw similar control from Covington, who led 5–2 heading into the final period after converting another takedown. Tsarukyan made a brief push with a single-leg attempt that momentarily narrowed the gap to 3–2, but Covington answered immediately to restore his advantage.

In the third period, Tsarukyan appeared exhausted and began shooting from distance in desperation. Covington responded with sprawls and front headlock control, slowing Tsarukyan's offensive attempts. Despite Tsarukyan's continued efforts, Covington's superior conditioning and wrestling acumen held firm, with the match concluding 5–3 in Covington's favor and snapping Tsarukyan's perfect RAF record.
