Jean Silva predicts early end to Noche UFC 4 main event
Jean Silva will headline Noche UFC 4 against Jose Delgado on September 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Delgado stepped in on short notice after Yair Rodriguez withdrew due to injury, entering as a significant underdog against the Brazilian striker.
Silva is confident he will finish Delgado decisively, predicting the bout will not extend beyond two rounds. "Lord" also emphasized his pride in representing Mexico during the UFC's annual celebration of Mexican Independence Day, though he acknowledged wanting to deliver at least 10 minutes of action for the fans. "He's not from Mexico," Silva said. "I am gonna represent Mexico on Saturday. I hope we can at least do at least two rounds."
Silva enters the matchup riding a wave of momentum. The 6–1 UFC fighter most recently defeated Arnold Allen in dominant fashion. His opponent Delgado, however, brings his own momentum to the bout. The 12–2 fighter is riding a two-fight winning streak capped by victories over Andre Fili and Austin Bashi. Since earning his UFC contract through Dana White's Contender Series, Delgado has compiled a 4–1 Octagon record, with his only setback a narrow decision loss to Nathaniel Wood. Despite his recent success, Delgado remains a considerable betting underdog against the resurgent Silva.
