MMA Divisional Rankings: Arman Tsarukyan makes case for lightweight crown after UFC 331 statement win

Arman Tsarukyan made a compelling case for the UFC lightweight title with a dominant knockout victory over Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331, earning consideration as the sport's top 155-pounder in the latest MMA Fighting Global Rankings update.
Tsarukyan's performance was so impressive that two of the panel's five voters ranked him ahead of reigning UFC champion Justin Gaethje at the top of the lightweight division. While three panelists maintained their support for Gaethje, the close vote underscores Tsarukyan's rising stature. With an 11-1 record over his last 12 fights and a knockout performance that could contend for Knockout of the Year, Tsarukyan has opened as a heavy betting favorite in speculation surrounding a potential title shot—a matchup that appears inevitable barring further injury or complication.
Elsewhere in the rankings, Tom Aspinall remains the consensus number-one heavyweight despite surrendering his UFC title, with the panel holding off on removing him pending his recovery timeline and the outcome of the Ciryl Gane versus Josh Hokit undisputed title fight at UFC 334 on November 14. At welterweight, the entire rankings shifted upward following Shavkat Rakhmonov's removal due to inactivity. Rakhmonov, previously ranked second, has been sidelined for more than 18 months with knee issues.
One of the division's hottest emerging talents is 26-year-old flyweight Fatima Kline, who has climbed eight spots to number six after recent impressive decision wins over Tabatha Ricci and Angela Hill. Analysts view Kline as a future title contender with the potential to compete for gold as soon as 2027 if her trajectory continues upward.
