Diego Ferreira wants to face King Green or another UFC veteran after UFC Vegas 120 win

Diego Ferreira is targeting a showdown with either Bobby Green or veteran Jim Miller following his bout against Billy Quarantillo at UFC Vegas 120 this Saturday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Ferreira and Green were scheduled to meet at UFC 319, but Green withdrew due to injury the day before official weigh-ins. The Brazilian striker remains eager to settle that matchup. "I was really focused on that fight, and I still want to fight Bobby Green," Ferreira told MMA Fighting. "First of all, because he's been fighting and beating everybody, so I hope it happens. If it's not Bobby Green, then I want to fight Jim Miller."

Green has won four straight fights, including victories over Terrance McKinney and Jeremy Stephens, while Miller recently earned a bonus-winning finish against Jared Gordon. Ferreira attributes part of his recent struggles—two consecutive UFC losses to Grant Dawson and Alexander Hernandez—to the compressed timeline after the Green cancellation forced him to fight Hernandez less than a month later. "Cutting weight twice in such a short period of time affected my performance," he explained. This time, he insists his preparation has been complete.

Quarantillo enters his first UFC lightweight bout after eleven featherweight appearances, arriving off back-to-back stoppage losses to Youssef Zalal and Cub Swanson. Ferreira sees vulnerability in his opponent's game but respects his durability. "He likes to absorb punishment, survive, and try to wear his opponent's cardio down late in the fight," Ferreira noted.

At 41, approaching his 42nd birthday in January, Ferreira recently flirted with retirement after his recent setbacks. His coach encouraged him to continue, and Ferreira remains driven by unfinished business—particularly a return to title contention. "The last time I put together six or seven straight wins in the UFC, I was close to a title shot," he reflected. Ferreira has also committed to a grappling match with Mairbek Taisumov in ACBJJ in the coming months before returning to the octagon.
