Foe announced as Joe Lauzon returns for BKFC 92 bout at Fenway Park
Joe Lauzon is making his long-awaited return to competition with a matchup now firmly in place. The former UFC lightweight will face Braeden Kuykendall in a welterweight bout at BKFC 92 on August 29 at Fenway Park in Boston—a venue Lauzon, a Massachusetts native, called "one of the most iconic" in the world.
This marks both Lauzon's bare-knuckle boxing debut and his first combat sports appearance in nearly six years. At 42 years old, he is opening a new chapter following his last fight against Jonathan Pearce in 2019, which he won by first-round stoppage.
Kuykendall comes in as an underdog on multiple fronts. He has yet to record a victory under the BKFC banner, sitting at 0-2 in the promotion, while his overall MMA record stands at 6-2. By contrast, Lauzon enters as an established veteran with a 28-15 career record and a "The Ultimate Fighter" alum credential.
The matchup comes after Lauzon was scheduled to face Donald Cerrone three separate times, though each booking ultimately fell through. His return at the historic Fenway Park, one of America's most iconic sports venues, signals that Lauzon is ready to compete again. The fight represents a significant moment for the veteran fighter as he transitions into bare-knuckle boxing at this stage of his career.
