3 new fights added to UFC 331, including Gable Steveson’s sophomore appearance

The UFC has confirmed three new bouts for UFC 331, scheduled for September 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and streaming on Paramount+. The card will feature Gable Steveson in his sophomore octagon appearance, a promotional return for Robelis Despaigne, and a middleweight clash between Ryan Gandra and Ozzy Diaz, though the event's main event has not yet been announced.

Steveson, an undefeated 4-0 wrestler, makes his second UFC appearance after a dominant first-round knockout of Elisha Ellison at the McGregor vs. Holloway 2 undercard in July. All of Steveson's MMA bouts have ended inside four minutes. He faces Sean Sharaf, a heavyweight looking to rebound from consecutive knockout losses to Junior Tafa and Steven Asplund to open his UFC tenure at 0-2.

In the heavyweight division, Robelis Despaigne returns to the octagon against Tai Tuivasa following a knockout win over Junior dos Santos at an MVP-promoted event in May—his first fight after parting with the UFC in 2024. Despaigne has also competed in Karate Combat, recording six finishes across seven matches between 2024 and 2025. Tuivasa, meanwhile, is in desperate need of a turnaround after dropping seven consecutive UFC bouts, including four consecutive stoppages followed by three decision defeats.

Gandra, a middleweight who opened his UFC career with consecutive knockout victories over Jose Medina and Zach Reese, returns to action. Diaz, his opponent on the card, seeks to bounce back from a loss to Ateba Gautier. The UFC has yet to confirm the event's headlining bout.
