Court McGee at peace with UFC farewell: ‘OK is good enough for me’
Court McGee has officially retired from the UFC after 16 years with the promotion, hanging up his gloves following a third-round technical knockout loss to Eric Nolan at UFC 332 on October 3 in Salt Lake City, his home city.
McGee (22-15) released a reflective statement about his farewell fight, expressing pride in his performance despite the loss. The veteran, who won Season 11 of "The Ultimate Fighter" in 2010 and earned his UFC contract as a result, took the time to truly absorb the magnitude of the moment—something he said he hadn't done in previous bouts. "For the first time, I was able to slow down and truly experience it all—the weeks leading up to the fight, fight week, the walk to the Octagon, and everyone who's been beside me through the highs and lows," McGee wrote on social media.
Throughout his 29-fight UFC tenure, McGee paid special tribute to 13 coaches and training partners he lost along his journey. The fighter, who overcame addiction before establishing himself as a professional mixed martial artist, reflected on a career that included both triumphs and setbacks. "Sometimes my best was great. Sometimes it was just okay," McGee noted, adding that being "okay" on his final night "is good enough for me." His gratitude extended to his opponent Nolan and everyone who supported him through the highs and lows. McGee's departure closes an important chapter in UFC history, marking the end of a career defined by resilience and personal growth both inside and outside the Octagon.
