Salahdine Parnasse: Usman Nurmagomedov fight ‘a possibility’ with UFC Paris win

Salahdine Parnasse has his sights set beyond his UFC Paris debut. The former KSW two-division champion headlines this weekend's event against Dan Hooker in his promotional bow, but already the "Lion of Atlas" is thinking about bigger matchups—particularly one with Usman Nurmagomedov, who recently became a free agent.

When asked directly about a potential clash with Nurmagomedov, Parnasse remained measured. "I think it's a possibility for sure, we'll see," he told MMA Fighting. However, Parnasse emphasized that his focus remains entirely on Saturday's main event, which will see him face one of the division's most battle-tested veterans. "As of right now, this moment, I don't have any names in my mind," Parnasse said. "So we'll have to see when I win on Saturday."

Parnasse signed with the UFC after fielding offers from multiple major promotions, but chose the world's largest MMA organization for the immediate opportunity: an automatic main event in front of his home country. The French fighter views Hooker as the perfect test case. "Dan Hooker is a guy that has fought everyone. He's a guy that's super experienced. He's fought Islam Makhachev, he's fought everyone in this division, so I was very excited to face him," Parnasse explained.

Oddsmakers have made Parnasse a heavy favorite, with some books listing Hooker at +440. Should Parnasse secure a highlight-reel victory over the experienced Hooker, doors to marquee lightweight matchups could open quickly in a star-driven division seeking fresh challengers at the top of the rankings.
