Dana White adds $50K UFC 331 bonus with one unusual catch
The UFC will award a special $50,000 "proper chaos bonus" at UFC 331 in Los Angeles on September 19, Dana White announced via Instagram. The bonus, created in partnership with Paramount+'s "MobLand" series, will be separate from the promotion's standard $25,000 finishing bonuses and $100,000 Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night awards.
Unlike other bonus categories, White has declined to establish specific criteria for the new prize. Instead, he will personally decide which fighter deserves the extra money based on his own judgment. In his announcement, White expressed enthusiasm for "MobLand," calling it one of the best shows on television, and framed the bonus as a way to inject "a little proper chaos into the Octagon" for one night only.
UFC 331 will feature a flyweight championship rematch headliner between Joshua Zaragoza and former champion Alexandre Pantoja. The card's co-headliner is a five-round lightweight bout with title implications, pitting Arman Tsarukyan against Mauricio Ruffy. The discretionary nature of White's new bonus adds an extra layer of unpredictability to an already stacked card, rewarding whichever fighter the UFC chief feels delivered the most compelling performance—however he defines it.
