Scott Coker unveils Ki MMA, 32-fighter global grand prix format
Scott Coker and Peter Y. Levin have officially unveiled Ki MMA, a new global mixed martial arts promotion set to launch in the first quarter of 2027. The organization will operate across four continents—North America, Europe, Asia, and South America—and will anchor its inaugural offering around a 32-fighter World Grand Prix.
The debut Ki MMA World Grand Prix will feature 32 featherweights competing across four continental eight-man single-elimination tournaments. The regional champions from North America, Europe, Asia, and South America will then converge for a one-night World Grand Prix Final. That final card will consist of two semifinals and a championship bout, meaning the first Ki MMA champion must win five consecutive fights to claim the title.
Beyond the grand prix structure, Ki MMA plans to showcase established fighters in "Super Fights" and will also run bouts across multiple weight classes. All action will take place inside a ring rather than an octagon, marking a stylistic departure from typical UFC or Bellator presentation. Coker and Levin have emphasized their long-term vision for the promotion, stressing responsible growth rooted in "discipline, character and respect." The tournament format is designed to provide an international pathway to stardom and a clear route to the inaugural world championship.
