UFC 330: Newcomer saves bout on 4 days’ notice for Makhachev vs. Machado Garry fight card

Eduardo Chapolin will step in on short notice to face Charles Johnson at UFC 330 on Saturday in Philadelphia after Jose Ochoa withdrew due to injury. The promotion confirmed the matchup Wednesday following Johnson's social media announcement.
Chapolin (15–2), a former LFA flyweight champion, most recently competed in November 2025 at Dana White's Contender Series, where he defeated An Tuan Ho via decision but did not secure a UFC contract. He also appeared on season 33 of The Ultimate Fighter in 2025. Johnson (19–9) has emerged as one of the promotion's most active fighters, averaging a bout every 98 days. The 2026 campaign has already seen him fight three times: a win over Bruno Silva sandwiched between losses to Asu Almabayev and Alex Perez.
UFC 330 will proceed with 12 bouts as originally scheduled, headlined by Islam Makhachev's lightweight title defence against Ian Machado Garry and Mackenzie Dern's strawweight championship bout with Gillian Robertson. The event takes place August 15.
