Morning Report | Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov have heated run-in at the UFC P.I.

Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov had a heated confrontation at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas on Wednesday, with footage showing Imavov attempting to confront the middleweight champion over delays in finalizing their title fight.
Imavov, riding a five-fight winning streak, has been lobbying for a shot at Strickland since the champ reclaimed the belt by defeating Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 in June. The two have previous history, having fought in 2023, and Imavov has grown frustrated with the timeline for booking their rematch. During the run-in at the PI, Imavov confronted Strickland over the contract delay, questioning whether the issue was money-related while security stood between them.
"You not sign the contract? What is the problem? Money? I have money!" Imavov shouted as Strickland walked away from the confrontation. The challenger continued venting his frustrations to security, calling Strickland derogatory names and demanding to know where the champion was going. He attempted to push past security to reach Strickland before being restrained.
Strickland later responded on Instagram, dismissing the encounter as staged content designed for social media attention. He noted that Imavov's training partner knows his schedule and suggested the challenger orchestrated the meeting at the PI rather than showing up at his actual gym. "Nothing bro it was all fake content if anything its just mildly uncomfortable," Strickland wrote, characterizing the moment as awkward and noting the presence of multiple camera operators.
The confrontation comes as Strickland publicly expresses frustration with UFC compensation, posting repeatedly about underpayment and even suggesting he may vacate his title to pursue opportunities outside the promotion—an issue, Strickland implies, beyond Imavov's control.
