Regina Tarin asked God for a sign; then the UFC called

Regina Tarin, an undefeated 21-year-old Mexican fighter with an 8–0 record, has credited a moment of spiritual clarity with steering her toward a UFC career over professional wrestling. After a scheduled Dana White's Contender Series bout fell through last year, Tarin entertained a WWE opportunity and attended their tryouts in January. Uncertain about her path, she prayed for guidance—and the UFC called with a last-minute offer.

Tarin accepted the three-day notice opportunity and made her Octagon debut in February, defeating Ernesta Kareckaite via unanimous decision in emphatic fashion. Known as "Kill Bill," Tarin has finished six of her eight professional wins, demonstrating striking and grappling prowess beyond her years. That debut convinced her that MMA was her true calling.

"I had a Contender Series fight that got canceled and WWE called me," Tarin told Full Send MMA. "I thought, 'OK, maybe MMA is not my sport; I can try WWE.' But I spoke to God and said, 'Please tell me if I chose the correct sport.' Then UFC called me on three days' notice. That's the exact moment when I thought MMA is for me."

Now Tarin is set to face J.J. Aldrich (15–7) at Noche UFC 4 on September 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, in her second UFC appearance. Tarin enters as a heavy favorite at –250 odds, while Aldrich carries a two-fight winning streak into the matchup. The bout represents a significant step up in competition for the young prospect as she continues her climb through the featherweight ranks.
