UFC 329: Injury scratches fighter days before McGregor vs. Holloway 2 event

Bantamweight contender Ethyn Ewing has been pulled from UFC 329 due to an undisclosed injury sustained days before the event, forcing the promotion to seek a replacement opponent for Basharat at the July 11 card in Las Vegas. Basharat, undefeated at 15–0 as a professional with a 6–0 UFC record, was set to face Ewing after securing a controversial split-decision win over Jean Matsumoto at UFC Vegas 113 in February. Ewing, a former A1 Combat champion and the No. 2 UFC bantamweight, had impressed since his debut in November—capping a stunning short-notice upset over Malcolm Wellmaker at UFC 322 with a liver-kick knockout of Rafael Estevam in April. The card, anchored by Conor McGregor's return against Max Holloway in a featherweight rematch, is part of the promotion's International Fight Week lineup. UFC officials are working to slot a replacement on the bout sheet as the event approaches.
