UFC Vegas 120 weigh-in results: Former title challenger takes 3 tries to make weight

Amanda Lemos needed three attempts to make weight ahead of her UFC Vegas 120 bout against Alexia Thainara on Saturday, a rocky start for a strawweight fighter desperately seeking to halt a career-worst slump.
Lemos arrived at Friday's official weigh-ins already under pressure. She is currently riding a 2–4 stretch—her first consecutive losses in the UFC—and cannot afford further setbacks. Her first two scale attempts proved unsuccessful, coming in at 117 pounds and then 116.5 pounds, both over the 115.5-pound strawweight non-title limit. After stripping down completely, Lemos stepped on the scale a third time roughly an hour into the two-hour weigh-in window and finally made weight at 115.5 pounds, officially clearing her to compete.
The rest of the card proceeded smoothly. Lightweight headliners Mateusz Gamrot and Quillan Salkilld both hit 155.5 pounds and were first to weigh in. Gamrot, ranked No. 11 at lightweight, faces the streaking Salkilld, who sits at No. 13 in the Global Rankings. Veteran featherweight Darren Elkins, 42, successfully weighed in at 145.5 pounds for what will be his final fight after competing in the UFC since 2010; he faces Yadier del Valle in a retirement bout on the main card.
All 24 fighters on the UFC Vegas 120 lineup successfully made weight.
