UFC 331 adds middleweight veterans to upcoming Los Angeles card

The UFC has added a middleweight clash to its September 19 card at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Edmen Shahbazyan will face Brunno Ferreira at UFC 331, MMA Fighting has confirmed.
Shahbazyan (16–6) is looking to bounce back after a three-round decision loss to Brendan Allen in June that halted his three-fight winning streak. The Armenian-American had strung together victories over Andre Muniz, Andre Petroski, and Dylan Budka in 2025 before the setback. Ferreira (15–4), a Brazilian middleweight, enjoyed a strong start to 2025 with three consecutive wins, including a decision over former title challenger Marvin Vettori, but has since fallen to Gregory Rodrigues and Ikram Aliskerov in back-to-back outings.
UFC 331 is shaping up as a Brazil versus The World affair. The card already features several international matchups, including Renato Moicano facing Brian Ortega, Patricio Pitbull against Doo Ho Choi, Ryan Gandra meeting Ozzy Diaz, and Eduarda Moura taking on Casey O'Neill. The UFC has yet to announce a headliner for the Los Angeles event.
Shahbazyan–Ferreira will serve as a crucial middleweight bout for both fighters seeking to reestablish momentum in a competitive division.
