Bogdan Guskov reacts to Magomed Ankalaev loss at UFC Abu Dhabi
Bogdan Guskov took a short-notice fight against Magomed Ankalaev in the UFC Abu Dhabi Fight Night main event, stepping in on just 14 days' notice to replace Khalil Rountree. The bout proved one-sided, with the former UFC champion methodically dismantling Guskov across the distance before securing a takedown and finishing with ground-and-pound in the final round.
Following the loss, Guskov posted a message of gratitude to his supporters on social media despite the setback. "I'm sorry to everyone who believed in me," the Uzbek fighter wrote. "That night wasn't my night, but I'm grateful for everyone who stood behind me and supported me through this journey. Thank you for all the kind words and messages. I'll learn from this, come back stronger. I'm not done yet."
The result marked only Guskov's second career defeat. After a submission loss in his UFC debut in 2023, the fighter known as "Hitman" had compiled an impressive four-fight finishing streak before drawing with Jan Blachowicz last year. Now, at 18-4-1, Guskov appears determined to use this loss as motivation for a comeback, continuing the pattern of bouncing back that has defined much of his UFC tenure.
