Josh Hokit says Tom Aspinall has a critical flaw in his fight style

Josh Hokit has criticized UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall's fighting style, claiming the titleholder is overly offensive-minded in a way that creates exploitable weaknesses. Hokit, responding to footage of Aspinall's 2022 bout against Alexander Volkov in London, posted on social media: "He's too offensive minded.. that makes things exciting until a proper athlete is able to compete with his athleticism.. his strength is also his weakness." Hokit, who extended his undefeated UFC record to 4–0 (10–0 overall) with a recent victory over Derrick Lewis, has been an outspoken critic of Aspinall. He previously called for the UFC to cut the heavyweight king, arguing that Ciryl Gane made Aspinall "quit" during their recent matchup. Aspinall is expected to face interim champion Gane in a title unification bout, effectively removing Hokit from immediate title contention. The American has been campaigning for a fight against Alex Pereira instead, with whom he has clashed at press conferences and fighter hotels.
