Mike Perry promises ‘blood sacrifice’ at Dual Arena 1, even without Dillon Danis

Mike Perry headlines Dual Arena's inaugural MMA event on Saturday night in Orlando, Florida, but his original opponent has changed. Perry was set to face Misfits Combat champion Dillon Danis, a polarizing figure in combat sports, but Danis withdrew from the matchup shortly before a Thursday press conference, citing an injury.

With the show going forward, Perry will now meet Brandon Jenkins in the main event. At Friday's ceremonial weigh-ins, Perry remained characteristically intense, telling Jenkins he shouldn't have shown up and promising to deliver "the blood sacrifice" the fans expected. "I told him he shouldn't have came," Perry said. "But the people, they need the blood sacrifice, so we've got to feed them the blood sacrifice. He's a big guy. I've got a lot of energy, and I worked so fucking hard for this shit!"

Jenkins, a UFC and PFL veteran, took the whole affair in stride. The 28-year-old fighter, who won a split decision over Chris Avila at MVP's Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event this summer, remained good-natured during the faceoff, even smiling and faking a kiss as Perry postured. "Mike gave me a chance to be great, so I'm gonna take it," Jenkins said. "I think everybody should fight like that. I'm gonna go out there and try to be as violent or more violent than him, so you guys are in for a treat."

Dual Arena 1 takes place Saturday night at the Kia Center in Orlando.
