Jan Blachowicz calls out fellow former UFC champion

Jan Blachowicz is looking to rebound from a brutal knockout loss at UFC Belgrade and has publicly called out former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Blachowicz was defeated in the main event by Navajo Stirling, who accepted the matchup on short notice—making a 40-day turnaround from a prior victory—and finished the Polish veteran via ground-and-pound in under three minutes.

Whittaker recently suggested he would have been interested in fighting Blachowicz had the veteran not suffered the loss to Stirling. The Australian, who made his light heavyweight debut last month following back-to-back middleweight defeats, knocked out Nikita Krylov at UFC 329 to open his 205-pound campaign. Both fighters train at City Kickboxing alongside champion Carlos Ulberg and rising prospect Stirling, though the three have indicated they will not fight one another.

Blachowicz responded by calling out Whittaker on social media: "Hey, Robert Whittaker! Let's turn your words into action." The matchup would pit two former UFC champions at light heavyweight. However, Blachowicz enters negotiations in challenging circumstances—he has not won in five straight fights since 2022, including two draws, while Whittaker brings momentum from his recent knockout victory and is establishing himself at 205 pounds.
